Local Risk Profile
Cross-border freight concentrates cargo, transit and liability exposure at the border post. Lake fishing carries high accident risk, and low-lying areas of the Nzoia and Yala deltas flood in the long rains.
Main routes we rate against
Kisumu-Busia Road (A1), Busia-Malaba Road and Busia-Bumala Road

Questions
Marine cargo or goods in transit cover on the goods, a COMESA Yellow Card if your vehicle crosses, money cover for cash held and carried, and burglary cover on stock in the warehouse. Regular traders are better off on an open cover declaring shipments monthly than buying trip by trip.
Motor cover does not - you need a Yellow Card. Marine cargo cover can, if it is written warehouse-to-warehouse with the destination declared. Tell us the final delivery point and we will make sure the wording actually reaches it.
Send us what you need covered. Quotes from several underwriters come back the same working day, and cover can start immediately.
