What insurance does a Maasai Mara camp need?

Fire and perils on tents and structures, public liability for guest injury, guest personal accident, WIBA for staff, motor cover on game-drive vehicles, and money cover for takings. Many international operators also require political violence and terrorism cover before they will contract with a camp.

Are game-drive vehicles insured differently?

Yes. Carrying paying guests makes it a commercial passenger risk, not private use, and a private motor policy will not respond. It needs commercial cover with passenger legal liability - getting this wrong is one of the more common and expensive mistakes in Mara operations.
